Job Title: Production Worker 1st & 2nd Shift Job Description This role supports a high-volume production line by loading materials, cutting tiles to size, and stacking or palletizing finished products while maintaining consistent quality standards. You rotate between tasks as a floater, perform visual quality inspections, and handle materials that typically weigh around 2 pounds, with occasional heavier items requiring safe lifting techniques and team lifts. Responsibilities + Load raw materials onto the production line in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. + Stack and palletize finished tiles as they come off the production line, ensuring stable and accurate stacking. + Perform visual quality inspections on tiles and materials to identify defects or inconsistencies. + Cut tiles to specified sizes using appropriate tools and equipment while following safety procedures. + Handle tiles and materials that typically weigh around 2 pounds, and independently lift items up to 50 pounds when required. + Participate in team lifts for any materials weighing more than 50 pounds to ensure safe handling. + Operate and support production line and machine operations as needed within the floater role. + Use hand tools and power tools safely for cutting, finishing, and material handling tasks. + Assist with packing and palletizing orders to meet production and shipping requirements. + Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with fiberglass and on the production floor. + Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment. + Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement. Essential Skills + At least 1 year of machine operation or production line experience in a manufacturing or general production environment. + Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and participate in team lifts for heavier items. + Experience performing visual quality inspections to identify defects or nonconforming products. + Previous experience with packing and palletizing materials in a production or warehouse setting. + Familiarity with general production processes and manufacturing industry practices. + Ability to work safely with hand tools and power tools for cutting and finishing tasks. + Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and product quality. + Reliability in following established procedures, safety guidelines, and production schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in roles such as assembly, production, machine operator, finishing, or material handler. + Comfort operating or working around forklifts and other material handling equipment. + Ability to work effectively in a floater role, moving between different tasks and stations as needed. + Willingness to work with fiberglass materials and use provided PPE to minimize irritation. + Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with coworkers on line operations and team lifts. + Adaptability to different shifts and overtime requirements based on production demands. Work Environment The facility is a very clean manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled, so it can be warm during the summer months. You work directly with fiberglass materials, which may cause sensitivity for some individuals; to help protect you, the company provides PPE such as coverings for arms and neck, gloves, earplugs, and safety glasses. Most items handled are very light, and while you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, such heavier lifts are described as extremely rare and supported by team lifting when over 50 pounds. The role operates on structured shifts: 1st Shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with overtime extending to 3:00 p.m. when needed; 2nd Shift runs from 2:50 p.m. to 12:50 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Friday; 3rd Shift runs from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. starting Monday. The dress code emphasizes safety, requiring the use of provided PPE and adherence to standard industrial safety attire appropriate for a production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
