As part of a growing manufacturing and engineering organization, Assembly Technicians play a key role in producing complex digital, analog, and RF circuit boards, working closely with Quality, Engineering, Test, and Manufacturing teams. This position is wellu2011suited for technicians who enjoy handsu2011on work, microscope soldering, and being part of a collaborative production environment Role Overview The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surfaceu2011mount and throughu2011hole soldering techniques, including fineu2011pitch components. The role involves working under a microscope, following detailed assembly instructions and drawings, and ensuring all work meets IPC and internal quality standards. Key Responsibilities + Assemble PCBs in accordance with engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and documented processes + Perform SMT and throughu2011hole soldering, including components down to 0402 size, using a microscope + Apply solder paste and support reflow operations (as required) + Support assembly of digital, analog, and RF boards + Maintain manufacturing quality standards and complete daily production logs + Work closely with Quality Control, Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, and Test teams to ensure clear communication and issue resolution + Identify electronic components and technologies and ensure proper installation + Follow all applicable IPCu2011Au2011610, Ju2011STDu2011001, and QMS requirements + Work cooperatively in a teamu2011based manufacturing environment Required Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent + Working knowledge of PCB assembly and soldering, including SMT and throughu2011hole techniques + Experience soldering under a microscope + Ability to solder SMT components down to 0402 size + Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics + Familiarity with IPCu2011Au2011610 and Ju2011STDu2011001 standards + Good command of the English language (verbal and written) + Ability to sit for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment + Must be able to pass background screening Preferred Qualifications + Previous experience in SMT electronic assembly + CIS Ju2011STDu2011001 certification (a plus, not required) + Experience applying solder paste and operating reflow ovens + Wire bonding experience + Experience assembling highu2011reliability or regulated electronic products Work Environment + Manufacturing and electronics assembly environment + Long periods of seated work + Frequent use of microscopes for precision soldering Why This Role? + Work on precision, highu2011reliability electronics where quality truly matters + Be part of a collaborative, crossu2011functional team + Build technical skills in SMT, IPC standards, and advanced electronics assembly + Contribute directly to products and programs with realu2011world impact Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manassas, VA.
