Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities The Social Worker (Program Coordinator), Family Therapy Program demonstrates possession of advanced practice skill and judgment. At least 2 years should be in an area of specialized social work practice including advanced experience working with couples and families with mental health needs and relationship distress. The candidate is licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level. The Social Worker (Program Coordinator), Family Therapy Program may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience specialty. The advance practice social worker can further be differentiated from the independent practice social worker by the candidate's ability to expand clinical knowledge in the profession, provide consultation and guidance to colleagues, role model effective social work practice skills, teach or provide orientation to less experienced social workers or team members, develop innovations in practice interventions, and provide clinical supervision for social work licensure or certifications. The Family Therapy Program provides couples and family psychotherapy to Veterans with mental health disorders and/or significant distress and functional impairment, as well as training, education, and consultation to all areas of the SAVAHCS on managing couples and family dynamics. Duties may include but are not limited to: Performs psychosocial assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning for couples and family psychotherapy, based on the nature of the psychotherapy and the treatment modality implemented. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced level case management services, coordination of care, referrals, advocacy, psychoeducation, transition, and discharge planning for Veterans in the Family Therapy program. Follows all guidance concerning completion of all documentation. Manages all aspects of their assigned caseload as well as ensuring that their family therapy team members' services are delivered within a clinically appropriate timeframe and meeting quality standards. Provides clinical supervision to social work and psychology interns based on the needs of the program and the educational needs/interests of the students. May clinically supervise a non-independently licensed social worker toward advanced clinical licensure. Participates in and assists in the coordination of VISN and national couples and family therapy community of practice calls, service line and all social work meetings, modality-specific VISN and national conference calls, and SAIL meetings. Responsible for reporting and presenting quarterly SAIL measures. Responsible for ensuring the Family Therapy Program meets the Joint Commission standards in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). Attends and participates in at least one weekly BHIP team meeting. Facilitates family therapy program team meetings as applicable. The candidate will be expected to provide 80% of their work as clinical care and allow for the remaining 20% for administration time for Program Coordinator responsibilities. This split may change based on the needs of the program. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m./8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. work schedule, but work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the service. Compressed/Flexible: May be available.
