Job Description Insight Global is looking for a C/C++ Software Engineer to join one of our clients at Nellis AFB. They will help design, develop, and maintain critical system software components for Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center u2013 Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis AFB, NV. As part of a team providing on-site Modeling and Simulation (M&S) support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC, this candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of NAVAIRu2019s Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that provides constructive entities to the battlespace simulation and supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis, and research and development. The Software Engineer will leverage their expertise in C++/C, along with strong design skills, to enhance the functionality and integration of NGTS with other JSE components like GRID (Global Reusable Interface Domain) in a complex simulation and training environment. This role requires a solid understanding of software architecture and development of best practices. What You Will Do Developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment. This software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats. Support software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations. u2022u2003Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design. u2022u2003Evaluate and review C++ language code. Programming using C++, C, Python 3. u2022u2003Develops parallel processes, threading, process communication. u2022u2003Utilizes Git for daily code management, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts within a collaborative development environment. u2022u2003Works proficiently with Git in both Bash (Linux) and Windows environments. u2022u2003Interacts with remote repositories, pushes code updates, and manages local repositories. u2022u2003Adheres to established branching strategies and understands the implications of working with master/production branches. u2022u2003Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements. u2022u2003Familiarity with time-series analysis a plus. Compensation: $62/hr to $69/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. OR 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; OR 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. u2022u2003Extensive experience with object-oriented software design and development, particularly in C++. u2022u2003Experience working with Git version control system, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution. u2022u2003Proficiency working in a Linux command-line environment (Bash). u2022u2003Able to successfully manage competing tasks and priorities. u2022u2003Strong oral and written communication, troubleshooting and organizational skills. u2022u2003Must have an active secret clearance u2022u2003Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. u2022u2003Experience with NGTS programming. u2022u2003Experience with GRID or GRID services and programming. u2022u2003Experience scripting and programming object-oriented languages like Java and Python is a plus. u2022u2003Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and current systems. u2022u2003Experience with Agile software practices. u2022u2003Extensive experience with Git bash and repo functions in a production code construct, including advanced branching strategies and release management. u2022u2003Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and basic Linux commands. u2022u2003Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
