Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee and enhance the financial operations of our organization. This is a long-term contract position based in Warwick, Rhode Island, offering an excellent opportunity to lead critical accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise and a proven ability to manage financial reporting processes and staff effectively. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. u2022 Manage and review journal entries, reconciliations, and related accounting activities. u2022 Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with applicable standards. u2022 Supervise and support staff involved in accounts receivable, billing, and other financial functions. u2022 Conduct detailed financial audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. u2022 Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze data and generate comprehensive financial reports. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy. u2022 Provide strategic input on accounting practices and policies to enhance organizational efficiency. Requirements u2022 Extensive technical accounting knowledge with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices. u2022 Expertise in managing complex reconciliations and financial reporting processes. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis. u2022 Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, billing, and staff management. u2022 Demonstrated ability to oversee month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. u2022 Familiarity with Oracle or similar financial systems. u2022 Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
