Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is essential in managing vendor and subcontractor compliance while ensuring accurate invoice processing and payments for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining precision and organization to support financial operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Process vendor and subcontractor invoices, including pay applications, using Sage 100 Contractor with accurate job, cost code, and phase coding. u2022 Match invoices to purchase orders, subcontracts, and approved change orders to ensure proper documentation. u2022 Apply and track retainage balances across active and closed construction projects. u2022 Route invoices for approval from Project Managers and resolve any coding disputes. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies directly with vendors. u2022 Maintain a clean accounts payable aging report and proactively flag issues for the Controller. u2022 Collect conditional and unconditional lien waivers prior to payments being issued. u2022 Manage vendor compliance by maintaining W-9s, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor agreements. u2022 Prepare and file year-end 1099 forms and ensure compliance with tax regulations. u2022 Support project cost tracking by maintaining committed cost data and assisting with month-end close processes. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience in commercial construction. u2022 Hands-on experience with subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, and retainage. u2022 Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor or similar construction accounting software. u2022 Strong understanding of job cost coding and its impact on project financials. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and a proven record of delivering accurate work. u2022 Associateu2019s or Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. u2022 Familiarity with 1099 preparation and Texas sales/use tax on materials is a plus.
