JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsibilities Surgical recovery of tissue fromdonors in hospital operating rooms, Medical Examiner/Coroner offices,and funeral homes. Acquires donated placentas and umbilical cords fortransplant and research following Versiti Organ and Tissue proceduresand protocols. Coordinates maintenance and cleaning of instruments andequipment to ensure appropriate quality assurance standards are met.Maintains inventory of supplies essential for recovery and acquisitionof tissue. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships withhospital, Medical Examiner/Coroner, and funeral home staff to maximizedonation opportunities and promote organ and tissue donation awareness.May precept new TRS staff in conjunction with primary preceptor.Coordinates and/or participates in various donation related communityactivities/events as assigned. Maintains competence through attendanceat mandatory and other job-related educational opportunities. Activelyparticipates in Lean and continuous improvement activities.
