About the Role The R&D Chemist supports the development and optimization of chemical technologies within Baroid, with a focus on production chemicals and fluid systems. This role applies laboratory expertise, chemical knowledge, and data-driven analysis to solve technical challenges, improve product performance, and contribute to the development of new technologies. Working under the guidance of senior scientists and advisors, the position supports innovation, product optimization, and intellectual property development. Candidates whose qualifications exceed the minimum requirements may be considered for a higher-level role (Senior R&D Chemist) based on business needs. Key Responsibilities u2022 Conduct laboratory testing and experimentation to support development and optimization of Baroid chemical products and fluid systems. u2022 Apply HSE standards and best practices in all laboratory and research activities. u2022 Select and execute appropriate test methods; analyze data and draw meaningful technical conclusions. u2022 Support development of new technologies, products, and applications, including contributions to intellectual property. u2022 Collaborate with senior scientists, advisors, and cross-functional teams to advance R&D initiatives. u2022 Provide technical support for production chemicals, including troubleshooting and performance improvement. u2022 Document experimental procedures, results, and recommendations in technical reports. u2022 Engage with internal technical teams and, as needed, support customer-facing technical discussions. u2022 Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory methods, testing protocols, and workflows. u2022 Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in chemistry and materials science. u2022 Participate in professional societies and technical forums related to area of specialization. Qualifications Required u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. u2022 Minimum 4 years of experience in laboratory, R&D, or chemical-related roles OR Masteru2019s degree in Chemistry or related discipline with 0u20132 years of experience. u2022 Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, chemical analysis, and experimental design. u2022 Ability to interpret data and translate results into practical recommendations. u2022 Knowledge of laboratory HSE standards and safe work practices. Preferred u2022 Experience with production chemicals, drilling fluids, or industrial chemical applications (Baroid-relevant). u2022 Exposure to oil & gas, industrial minerals, or related industries. u2022 Experience contributing to product development, formulation, or process optimization. u2022 Familiarity with intellectual property development or technical documentation. u2022 Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical teams.
