The position requires training on first shift for approximately 6u20138 weeks before moving to second shift. #AerotekjobsKS26 Responsibilities + Assemble fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and related components according to written directions and specifications. + Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, bills of material, and customer specification materials to build products accurately. + Follow quality management system work instructions and procedures to ensure products meet all quality and workmanship criteria. + Pack finished products according to specifications and documentation requirements. + Maintain logs, records, and reports related to production output, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies. + Inventory tools, parts, and supplies, and coordinate with materials handlers when additional supplies are needed. + Periodically inspect products in accordance with company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion, resolve identified issues, and promptly notify supervision of concerns. + Make decisions regarding product acceptance based on product documentation and company workmanship standards. + Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical and complex assembly tasks. + Work closely with shop floor supervision and other team members to coordinate activities and resolve production or quality issues. + Confer with team members at all organizational levels to discuss issues, coordinate work, and resolve problems. + Use a computer to access and update manufacturing documentation, work orders, logs, and reports. + Write professional documents, letters, memos, and electronic communications as needed to support production and quality processes. + Read work orders to determine material, tooling, or setup requirements and prepare workstations accordingly. + Apply general rules and procedures to specific problems to develop practical solutions and improvements. + Recognize when processes, products, or conditions are not correct and take appropriate action to address or escalate issues. + Organize, arrange, and group parts or information according to specific rules, patterns, or sequences. + Visualize how assemblies will look after components are added, changed, or rearranged to ensure correct build and fit. + Address conflict situations professionally and work constructively with individuals who may be upset or discouraged. + Make decisions that affect other team members, production results, and the organizationu2019s image and resources, often without direct supervision. + Take responsibility for outcomes and results, including accepting and correcting errors when they occur. + Determine tasks, priorities, and goals within assigned responsibilities and manage time to meet strict deadlines. + Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while performing repetitive physical and mental activities. + Generate ideas and contribute creative or alternative approaches to solve assembly and production challenges. + Shift between multiple tasks, sources of information, and priorities while maintaining focus and accuracy. + Concentrate on tasks over extended periods without becoming distracted and return to tasks efficiently after interruptions. + Compare information, parts, and documentation quickly and accurately to identify similarities, differences, or inconsistencies. + Work effectively as part of a group or team and interact with external customers or the public when required. + Perform other related duties as assigned to support production, quality, and continuous improvement. Essential Skills + 2u20133 years of previous bench assembly experience. + Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly and complex assembly work. + Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings. + Ability to understand and interpret design data, including drawings, bills of material, and customer specifications. + Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or manufacturing environment. + Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials such as hardware and sealants, assembly processes, and quality control tools. + Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, including work orders, blueprints, customer specification materials, and the bills of material (BOM) process. + Ability to use a computer to access and work within manufacturing and business systems. + Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and composition. + Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large group environments, verbally and in writing. + Ability to make independent decisions regarding product acceptance based on documentation and workmanship standards. + Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements. + Ability to maintain applicable skills, knowledge, and certifications as required by the role. + Ability to recognize problems, analyze information, and apply general rules to develop logical solutions. + Ability to work accurately and consistently while meeting strict deadlines and production schedules. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, occasional bending, twisting, and extended sitting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with sheet metal bushings, nutplates, and sealants in an assembly environment. + BAC5000 sealant experience is preferred. + Experience in a sub-assembly or machining plant, particularly within aviation-related production, is beneficial. + Awareness of competitive pressures and a focus on quality and efficiency. + Ability to generate creative and original ideas to improve processes or solve problems. + Comfort working in both structured and unstructured work environments. + High level of comfort with computers and systems; familiarity with enterprise or GSS-type systems is a plus. + Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Project are advantageous. Work Environment This role is based in an indoor, environmentally controlled sub-assembly and machining plant that supports aviation-related production. The position offers a first-shift schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for approximately 6u20138 weeks of initial training. After training, the role transitions to a second-shift schedule of Monday through Thursday, 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m. Work involves repetitive movements and extended periods of sitting while working on a computer, along with occasional bending, twisting, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. You regularly move within and between departments at multiple locations within the facility. The environment requires frequent use of telephones, email, and other electronic communication tools, as well as face-to-face discussions with individuals and teams. You will often work in close physical proximity to others, collaborating on production tasks and problem-solving. The role requires sustained concentration, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and comfort with a steady pace of work.
