Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Director, Clinical Pharmacy in Vancouver, Washingtonu2026u2026 This position is about 90% remote - but will be required to be onsite as requested. Must reside in Washington, Oregon, or Alaska. This position is responsible for system formulary management and the development of associated long and short-term business strategies to maximize positive clinical outcomes with optimal cost management. This position reports to the Senior Vice President u2013 Chief Pharmacy Officer. In collaboration with local Pharmacy Directors, Chief Medical Officers, and Clinical Managers of Pharmacy systemwide, the Dir Clinical Pharmacy is responsible for: establishing a schedule of formulary review and overseeing the system Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee process, standardizing methods of clinical pharmaceutical care and clinical documentation; overseeing clinical pharmacy informaticists, establishing and shepherding system clinical subject matter expert pharmacist groups, assuring clinical pharmacist practice competency; demonstrating ongoing success and leading of various clinical, cost savings and patient safety initiatives from the system level. The Dir Clinical Pharmacy must ensure that quality and performance improvement activities meet their target conditions in all areas. Key Responsibilities: + Collaborate with other pharmacy leadership system-wide to support quality delivery of pharmacy services. Collaborate with peers to develop drug-utilization and formulary initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes and ensure the use of cost-effective pharmacotherapy + In collaboration with other healthcare interdisciplinary team members, coordinate agenda and presentations for system P&T and provide oversight of Pharmacy Informatics and EPIC implementation of System P&T committee decisions + Create an implement a regular schedule and review of pharmaceutical drug classes systemwide. Lead systemwide MUEs and ensure medication systems incorporate continuous improvement methodologies in order to operate effectively across the entire continuum of care. + Ensure continued compliance with all national, state and local regulations related to medications and their use in the clinical pharmacy arena + Develop and maintain positive relationships with leadership and caregivers system-wide. Support implementation of strategic initiatives and decisions. + Oversee and/or produce educational content development for new system clinical pharmacy initiatives and for areas of needed additional clinical pharmacy training. Take part in training pharmacists, pharmacy interns and pharmacy students. + Lead the PeaceHealth System in Clinical PharmacyPractice and Pharmacotherapy. This may include: Data analysis and reporting; risk management; serve as a clinical resource for drug contracts and purchasing; setting of systemwide practice and performance standards, leading clinical pharmacy patient safety initiatives Qualifications: + Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a CPE-accredited school (required); Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. + Required: PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency or 5+ years of advanced pharmacotherapy practice. + Masters Degree or combination of education and professional experience that provides the incumbent with the requisite knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the job + Required: 7 years in advanced clinical pharmacy practice + Required: 5 years Clinical Management Experience + Pharmacist license in state of Washington, Oregon or Alaska. + Required: Licensed Pharmacy Preceptor + Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred.
