Follow Zones, LLC on Twitter @Zones, and LinkedIn and Facebook.Position Overview:Term: 6-month contract to hireLocation: Parkville, MO or Tulsa, OKPay: $50.00 - $60.00; commensurate with experienceHours: 9:00 - 5:00 We are seeking an entry-mid level Software Tester with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing to support software systems used in HVAC products, including systems that manage and monitor 1-stage and 2-stage compressors. This role will focus on ensuring software quality, reliability, and performance across applications that support operational, control, and user-facing HVAC technologies.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in testing methodologies, exposure to automation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product teams.What you will do as the Software Tester/QA Engineer:Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts to simulate real-world user interactions and system behaviorsExecute automated and manual test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliabilityAnalyze test results and logs to identify, reproduce, and document software defectsCollaborate with software developers, product owners, and systems engineers to define testing requirements and acceptance criteriaDevelop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverageParticipate in regression testing cycles for software releases related to HVAC control systems and compressor functionalityEnsure test coverage aligns with business, operational, and compliance requirementsContribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentationWhat you will bring to the team:Required Qualifications:2-5 years of experience in software testing or quality assuranceExperience executing both manual and automated test casesHands-on experience with at least one test automation tool or framework (., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or similar)Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test plans, test cases, and defect lifecycle managementFamiliarity with Agile or Scrum development environmentsAbility to analyze technical issues and clearly document findingsStrong attention to detail and analytical thinkingEffective communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teamsEagerness to learn and grow within a technical environmentBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferredEquivalent professional experience consideredPreferred Qualifications:Experience testing systems related to industrial equipment, manufacturing, or HVAC technologiesExposure to testing applications that interface with hardware or embedded systemsBasic understanding of compressors, control systems, or IoT-enabled devicesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test executionFamiliarity with API testing and basic scripting (Python, JavaScript, or similar)#LI-TB1Zones offers a comprehensive Benefits package While we’re committed to providing top-tier solutions, we’re just as committed to supporting our own team.
