Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school in Pfafftown, NC is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide one-on-one support for a 4th grade student beginning January 5th through the end of the school year. This contract position focuses on facilitating communication within the classroom setting and supporting the student’s educational success. Responsibilities: Provide clear and accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities Work closely with the 4th grade student to ensure understanding and engagement Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the student’s learning objectives Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Assist with any accommodations necessary to enhance accessibility for the student Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a K-12 educational environment Familiarity with teaching or supporting 4th grade curriculum is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a one-on-one setting Location: Pfafftown, North Carolina This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student's educational experience by providing essential communication support.
