Job Title: 1st Shift General Production Worker Pay rate: $19/hr Job Description Join a fast-paced food manufacturing facility as a 1st Shift General Production Worker, supporting multiple areas of the production floor. You will assist with assembly, milling, staging, and packaging activities while helping to maintain a clean and efficient operation. This role offers cross-training in different departments and the opportunity to grow into a full-time position with enhanced benefits. Responsibilities + Assist in the assembly area with preparing and handling products for packaging and shipment. + Support the milling area by helping with the processing of flour, corn flour, cornbread mixes, and other food mixes. + Work in the staging area to organize, move, and prepare products and materials for the next steps in production. + Pick and pack products, including bags of flour and boxes of other food products, according to production and order requirements. + Load and unload pallets safely and efficiently to support continuous production flow. + Stack and arrange finished goods in designated areas to keep the production floor organized. + Sweep up flour and perform regular cleaning of the milling and production areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. + Follow all safety and cleanliness procedures while working in a dusty and hot production setting. + Adapt to different tasks as needed and support various departments throughout the production floor. + Participate in cross-training to learn multiple functions and become a versatile member of the production team. Essential Skills + Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. + Capability to stand and remain on your feet for the duration of the workday. + Willingness to work in a hot, non-climate controlled, and dusty environment. + Comfort working in general production, assembly, packaging, and general labor roles. + Ability to perform manual tasks such as picking, stacking, and packing bags and boxes. + Reliability and consistency in following instructions and completing assigned tasks. + Strong attention to cleanliness and safety in a food manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Willingness to be cross-trained in different areas across the production floor. + Flexibility to assist in assembly, milling, staging, and other areas as needed. + Comfort working around milling equipment and handling flour and other food mixes. + Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment. Work Environment This role is based in a food manufacturing facility that produces flour, corn flour, cornbread mixes, and other food mixes. The work environment is non-climate controlled and can be hot, especially in the milling department where flour is processed and can spread throughout the area, making it dusty and dirty. You will work on the production floor from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on 1st shift, performing physical tasks such as lifting, stacking, and moving products. The setting is industrial and fast-paced, with a focus on cleanliness and safety appropriate for food production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denton, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
