We’re looking for an Equipment Operator to support excavation and dirt work using a variety of heavy equipment. This position reports to the Project Foreman or Project Superintendent.What you’ll doOperate excavation/dirt equipment and wheeled or track skid loaders to complete assigned work safely and efficientlyPerform daily pre-use inspections; lubricate and service equipment as neededReport equipment issues promptly and accuratelyComplete routine maintenance and minor repairs within your scopeFollow all site safety requirements, policies, and proceduresSupport the construction crew with general duties when operator work is limitedHelp train and orient new employees as neededParticipate in hiring/employment processes when requestedPromote teamwork and positive, professional communication on siteAttend site meetings and share updates/ideas as requested by the Project SuperintendentFollow directions and work assignments from the Foreman or Project Superintendent with a sense of urgencyWhat we’re looking forAbility to read and follow safety rules, warning signs, and site directionsAbility to read construction drawings and understand job plansComfortable taking measurements and working from grades/stakesStrong knowledge of safe operation for the types of power construction equipment assignedGood judgement of distances, slopes, and surroundingsClear, respectful communication with coworkers and field leadershipAbility to manage your time, stay organized, and respond to changing jobsite needsRequirements3+ years of equipment operating experience (required)High school diploma or GED (preferred)Pass a pre-employment drug testHave reliable transportationWork environmentThis role is primarily outdoors in all types of weather. You may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, damp conditions, ice, precipitation, and mud.Physical Demands:Must be able to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; reach, handle, and manipulate objects and materials; and lift/carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Ability to stand/walk and to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods is required.
