We're one global team driven by our common purpose to deliver a better world. Join us. Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Electrical Engineer for employment. This position can be located in our New York or New Jersey office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. This position is for a hybrid work environment. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Complete electrical power and lighting designs for small to large sized projects. Designing medium/low voltage (480V or under) power distribution, lighting, lightning protection, and other low voltage systems for Transportation, Commercial, Federal, Retail, Higher Education, Central Utilities, and Industrial facilities. Design of fire alarm systems. Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and equipment suppliers. Perform lighting calculations. Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files. Attend project meetings and delegates activities as needed. Meet with clients and participate in technical presentations while maintaining good client relations. Represents the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations. Working with Department Manager and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities. Performing Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis). One-line diagrams, Switchgear/Switchboard/Panelboard Layouts, Equipment layouts and sectional views. Cable and conduit schedules. Complying with hazardous area classification codes and standards. Developing construction and equipment specifications. Supporting projects during construction u2013 Submittal/Contractor RFI Review. Grounding Analysis and Design. Reviewing engineering work performed by peers. Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Prepares technical specification sections. Participates in the development of studies and reports. Qualifications Minimum Requirements + Bacheloru2019s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with Electrical emphasis) from an accredited program + 6 years of design experience + Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD + Willingness to travel occasionally u00b7 Preferred Experience/Qualifications + 10 Years + NJ or NY PE + NY/ NJ Agency Experience + Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups + Experienced in Electrical Power Calculation Software (SKM, ETAP) + Experienced in the design of lighting and lighting control systems for in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRAE 90.1 or IECC) + Experienced in application of National Electrical Code and NYC Electrical Code. + Experienced in application of National Electrical Safety Code + Working knowledge of NFPA and IEEE Regulatory Codes + Skill in the use of Microsoft programs and BIM software + Ability to perform final quality control reviews in their area of expertise + Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans and drawings + Ability to switch between working on multiple/different projects + Ability to lead and mentor junior electrical team members Additional Information Sponsorship is not available for this role. Relocation is not available for this role. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
