Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Specialist manages the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of electronic components within a temperature- and humidity-controlled warehouse environment. This role ensures all incoming materials meet quality and quantity requirements, maintains precise inventory records in the ERP system, supports production with timely material availability, and contributes to continuous improvement of inventory control processes. Responsibilities + Receive incoming shipments of electronic components and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and specifications. + Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials to identify any damage, defects, or discrepancies. + Accurately enter receiving and inventory data into the ERP system to ensure proper documentation and traceability. + Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records in the ERP system, including stock levels, locations, and material movements. + Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to confirm inventory accuracy and identify variances. + Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged materials. + Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize carrying costs while supporting production needs. + Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency. + Pick and pack orders for production, ensuring correct materials, quantities, and timely delivery to the production line. + Coordinate closely with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials and prevent production delays. + Investigate and resolve production delays related to inventory or material availability issues. + Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and RF scan guns, in a safe and efficient manner. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, including proper storage and handling of materials. + Assist with the maintenance and basic upkeep of warehouse equipment and tools. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory management, shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes. + Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders, including production and planning teams. + Perform accurate and timely data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions. Essential Skills + 2+ years of experience in inventory management or a related field within a manufacturing or warehousing environment. + Proficiency in ERP systems for inventory, shipping, and receiving transactions. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including data entry and basic reporting. + Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices. + Experience with shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse setting. + Hands-on experience with cycle counts and physical inventory processes. + Material handling experience, including safe operation of forklifts. + Experience using RF scan guns for inventory and order processing. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve inventory discrepancies and process issues. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry. + Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Effective customer service skills for working with internal departments.
