Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician Job Description The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that products consistently meet strict quality and food safety standards. In this role, you perform wet chemistry tests such as viscosity, salt content, and color checks, conduct allergen and environmental swabs, and verify that each batch meets defined specifications. You accurately document results in a quality database, support product holds and raw material handling, and communicate findings to supervisors and leadership to maintain high-quality, premium food products. Responsibilities + Perform wet chemistry testing on products, including viscosity, salt content, and color measurements, to confirm they meet product specifications. + Conduct allergen testing and environmental swabs in production areas to support food safety and sanitation programs. + Verify that each production batch meets established quality standards and place products on hold when results fall outside specifications. + Handle and test raw materials to ensure they meet incoming quality requirements before use in production. + Accurately enter test results and quality data into the food safety programs and databases in a timely manner. + Prepare and complete end-of-shift reports that summarize test results, product holds, and any quality or food safety issues. + Communicate test results, non-conformances, and trends clearly to supervisors, managers, and other team members. + Work closely with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency. + Follow established laboratory procedures, food safety protocols, and documentation standards at all times. + Assist with general laboratory duties, including maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. + Train on first shift for approximately one month to learn procedures, equipment, and quality standards before transitioning to second shift. + Adapt to changing production needs, including supporting additional testing or tasks during busy seasons. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
