Description Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for accurate recording of financial transactions and maintenance of accounting records. This role supports the integrity of the Councilu2019s financial statements through timely reconciliations, documentation, and transactional accuracy, and operates under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. This position provides a growth pathway toward advanced accounting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Transactional Accounting u00b7 Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity u00b7 Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation and coding u00b7 Maintain accurate general ledger records Reconciliations & Close Support u00b7 Perform monthly bank and balance-sheet reconciliations u00b7 Identify discrepancies and work with the Accounting Manager to resolve issues u00b7 Support monthly and year-end close activities Financial Reporting Support u00b7 Prepare standard financial reports and schedules for internal review u00b7 Assist in budget tracking and variance support as assigned u00b7 Provide supporting schedules for audit and compliance purposes Records & Documentation u00b7 Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records u00b7 Ensure documentation is audit-ready and compliant with retention policies u00b7 Support grant, product program, and restricted fund documentation Audit & Compliance Support u00b7 Assist with audit requests and preparation of schedules u00b7 Support compliance with federal, state, and GSUSA requirements u00b7 Follow internal controls and accounting policies consistently Requirements Qualifications u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting (required) u00b7 0u20133 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience u00b7 Working knowledge of basic accounting principles u00b7 Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel u00b7 Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
