Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day receivables operations for a team in New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position focuses on accurate billing, timely cash application, and proactive follow-up on outstanding commercial accounts. The ideal candidate will help maintain healthy cash flow by resolving payment issues, reviewing account activity, and coordinating with internal partners to keep records current and accurate. Responsibilities: u2022 Process customer invoices and billing transactions with close attention to accuracy, completeness, and timing. u2022 Apply incoming payments to the appropriate customer accounts and investigate discrepancies when remittance details are unclear. u2022 Monitor aging reports and conduct commercial collections outreach to secure payment on overdue balances. u2022 Reconcile account activity by reviewing cash receipts, open invoices, credits, and unapplied payments. u2022 Respond to customer questions related to billing, balances, payment status, and account adjustments in a thorough and attentive manner. u2022 Maintain detailed records of collection efforts, payment activity, and account updates to support reporting and follow-up. u2022 Partner with internal departments to research issues affecting payment cycles and help resolve invoice-related concerns. u2022 Review daily cash activity to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and exceptions are addressed promptly. Requirements u2022 Experience working in accounts receivable with responsibility for billing, cash posting, and account follow-up. u2022 Hands-on knowledge of cash application processes and reconciliation of customer payments. u2022 Background in commercial collections with the ability to manage past-due accounts professionally and effectively. u2022 Familiarity with billing functions, account research, and payment discrepancy resolution. u2022 Ability to track cash activity accurately and maintain organized financial records. u2022 Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to handling transactional data. u2022 Effective communication skills for working with customers and internal stakeholders on account matters.
