Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Plant Accountant to join our team in Independence, Missouri. This role is essential in managing financial activities, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting operational efficiency within the plant. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure the integrity of financial records. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries, verifying supporting documentation for accuracy. u2022 Conduct account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities. u2022 Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights. u2022 Collaborate with plant management to analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. u2022 Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. u2022 Provide training and guidance to entry level accounting staff as needed. Requirements u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Proven experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or plant environment. u2022 Strong proficiency in month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. u2022 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
