The National Client Group is responsible for overseeing the largest and most strategic U.S. based merchants. The Senior Manager, Client Management u2013 Lodging role offers the opportunity to leverage strong relationship management, consultative selling, and strategic thinking to drive incremental American Express spend with merchants, all within a challenging and collaborative environment. This is a unique and high-profile opportunity for an experienced relationship manager to oversee a $5B portfolio comprising some of our largest and most strategic merchants in the lodging industry, including MGM, Wynn Las Vegas, and Caesars Entertainment. This position is suited for a professionally mature business leader with expertise in building and cultivating relationships both internally and externally, one who can take ownership of high-profile, complex initiatives involving multiple senior-level stakeholders across the Blue Box. The ideal candidate will possess a strong strategic background, with a demonstrated ability to think innovatively to drive revenue and solve challenges. They will also have a solid financial and analytical skill set, along with the ability to lead and deliver results in a fast-paced, highly complex, and matrixed environment. Responsibilities + Business Development: Drive charge volume growth, revenue, and profitability by leveraging in-depth knowledge of the merchantu2019s business, industry, and American Express products and services + Relationship Management: Cultivate and leverage relationships across American Express and with merchants to identify and implement solutions that drive growth and expand share + Strategy Development: Identify opportunities to increase spend on American Express products through innovative marketing and partnership initiatives + Negotiation: Develop innovative partnerships and negotiate profitable deal structures, value levers, and pricing scenariosP&L Management: Optimize client profitability and develop strategic growth plans Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: + Experienced relationship manager with a proven ability to build strong client relationships, sell B2C and B2B programs and initiatives, and identify new opportunities to grow revenue and share + Experience in negotiations, including an understanding of card acceptance financials, industry economics, profitability levers, and financial statements + Proven consultative selling skills, with a demonstrated ability to close deals and deliver results in a timely manner + Strong executive presence, both internally and externally, with the ability to lead senior-level discussions and influence decision-making Demonstrated curiosity and initiative to generate ideas, identify new business opportunities, and develop solutions + Ability to influence others and collaborate effectively across American Express teams to ensure seamless integration with key partners in TLS, Strategic Partnerships, Marketing, Finance, Pricing, Risk, Operations, Compliance, and Legal Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
