The Driver Assistant supports the driver in providing safe and efficient transportation services, focusing on passenger care, mobility assistance, and securement. This role is critical for stretcher trips, wheelchair assistance, and members requiring additional support.Key ResponsibilitiesPassenger Care & Assistance1. Assist passengers in and out of vehicles, homes, and facilities2. Support wheelchair and stretcher transfers3. Ensure passengers are comfortable and secure during transport4. Monitor passengers during transport and report concernsSecurement & Safety1. Assist with proper wheelchair securement (4-point tie-down + restraints)2. Help position seatbelts and shoulder restraints correctly3. Ensure all medical equipment (oxygen, walkers, etc.) is secured4. Follow all safety protocols during loading/unloadingTrip Support1. Help verify member identity and trip details2. Assist with navigating facilities (hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers)3. Support driver with timely pickups and drop-offs4. Stay with vehicle when necessary during drop-offsCustomer Service1. Provide respectful, patient-centered care2. Maintain a calm and professional attitude at all times3. Assist elderly and disabled passengers with compassionCleanliness & Infection Control1. Sanitize vehicle and equipment between tripsFollow hygiene and PPE guidelines when required
