The United Methodist Inner City Mission seeks a dependable and self-motivatedCustodianto maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of its facilities. This role supports day-to-day operations for programs serving children, families, and seniors by ensuring a clean, welcoming, and hygienic environment. The Custodian plays an essential role in upholding the Missions commitment to community service and hospitality. Key Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchen areas, and common spaces daily.- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash throughout the facility.- Restock paper towels, soap, and other restroom or cleaning supplies.- Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment; promptly report any repair or maintenance needs.- Assist with setup and breakdown for meetings, programs, and community events.- Monitor and secure doors and gates during opening and closing shifts.- Follow all safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly in compliance with OSHA standards.- Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility upkeep and program operations. Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.- Prior custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferred.- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and initiative.- Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully in a mission-based environment.- Must have reliable transportationand consistent attendance.
