As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. The challenges are exciting and the possibilities endless - as you contribute your skills in a vibrant, customer- and people-centric culture that celebrates you as a valuable member of the team.The Senior Designer executes the seasonal design development process from concept through delivery, creating original, trend-driven designs that align with market needs and drive sales, while ensuring timely and accurate execution at every stage.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy & InnovationResearch and identify trend direction to create innovative, elevated, and relevant products for the IZOD Market. Collaborate to select fabrics, yarns, develop swatches, create color storiesExecute development of initial seasonal design category in context of larger assortment, and cost structureCreate presentation boards physically and digitally as needed for internal and external leadership meetingsInterface with Technical Design on prototype development, style fittings and Showroom Sample pre-production fittingsCreate product with strong price/value relationship to ensure margin requirementsShop and perform research to isolate key, relevant trends for each category or brand, where appropriate; review and provide perspective on competitive analysis; oversee assembly of fabric and concept boards, mock-ups, color-ups, and inspirational photos for presentationsOversee development of initial seasonal design concepts in context of larger assortment and cost structure; collaborate with sales to devise style plans and design according to trends; ensure timely execution of product development calendar; coordinate among design teams to ensure brand cohesiveness, where appropriate, across categoriesOperations & ResultsDesign product in accordance with Seasonal Line Plans to drive brand DNA: insuring to meet the needs of the business product pyramid. Design according to sales needs and emerging trends; ensure timely execution of product development calendarCreate Yarn Dye and Print Patterns which will be applied to correct Fabrics. Be able to create desired effect of the fabric in color correct print outs and digital representationCreate Illustrator and Browzwear 3D sketches to be used either as print outs or as digital representation in Miro or similar presentation apps; review specification sheets and line sheets; ensure accuracy of product development logs, line sheets, boards and design archives library; ensure maintenance of designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system or shared drivesSelect and review raw materials and trims; ensure maintenance of fabric/trim libraryApprove lab dips, handlooms, strike-offs and ensure consistency with color standards and licensor directives where appropriate; approve prints and graphics where appropriate; oversee fit process working with VP of DesignWork with multiple internal customers for different areas of distributionCustomers & RelationshipsCoordinate follow-up with internal and external customers and partners, including technical design, production and vendors, merchandising, manager interoffice communicationBuild collaborative relationships with vendors and internal customersLeadership & TeamsContribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessaryDesign product in accordance with Seasonal Line Plans to drive brand DNA: insuring to meet the needs of the business product pyramid. Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process.
