Description The Economic Research Analyst works collaboratively with the commercial banku2019s chief economist and other analysts to research, analyze, and outline insights on developments in the macroeconomy, financial markets, key targeted industries, and the commercial lending markets for the banku2019s commercial clients and the executive leaders of the Bank. This role will identify and collect appropriate competitor, market, economic, financial, and/or operational data; analyze patterns and trends in data; synthesize the findings into written pieces and video content aimed at external audiences, including commercial clients, prospects, and the media, as well as creating internal presentations that communicate insights and recommendations through storytelling, while maintaining a balance between the big picture and a mastery of details. Duties and Responsibilities: + Translate the latest developments in the economy and financial markets into insights that are relevant to the banku2019s commercial clients. + Analyze data in financial statements, press releases and other sources to create and update comprehensive industry and competitor models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces. + Provide market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the Executive Leadership Team, plus various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation. + Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify emerging needs and business challenges. + Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverage them across the company where appropriate. + Use creative thinking and problem solving to research, analyze, and outline data-driven insights that identify trends in the economy, financial markets, peers, and the commercial banking industry. + Apply visualization techniques to internal and external data sources to communicate in a more effective manner. + Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: + Bacheloru2019s degree in economics, business, finance, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: + Familiarity with financial services, especially commercial banking. + Experience writing, researching, and publishing on financial markets, macroeconomics, or specialized industry content. + Masteru2019s degree in economics, finance, or a related field. + High competency creating financial, statistical, economic, and qualitative data analysis of the economy, markets, and competitors. + Strong articulator with the proven ability to present to senior management. + Documented success in roles which demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and strategic thinking skills. + Strong ability to manage ambiguity/complexity and possesses initiative and the willingness to take ownership of work and projects. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels. + Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines. + Ensure all work meets compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. + Related experience in market or competitive research, financial analysis, investor relations, or a related field. #LI-DS23 #LI-onsite Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay) Yes Workplace Type: Office Our Approach to Office Workplace Type Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
