Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for an opportunity in McAdoo, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and partner with internal teams in a fast-paced industrial setting. The position offers the chance to contribute across financial reporting, reconciliations, cash management, and audit support while helping strengthen accounting processes and systems. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead the monthly close cycle by preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial results. u2022 Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to maintain complete and reliable financial records. u2022 Produce monthly financial statements along with detailed supporting schedules for management review. u2022 Handle recurring accounting activities such as bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed asset tracking, capital project accounting, and inventory-related entries. u2022 Support cost accounting activities tied to operations, including analysis of production costs and inventory valuation. u2022 Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies promptly. u2022 Review accounts payable activity for accuracy and compliance with established internal controls and company procedures. u2022 Prepare cash flow projections and monitor liquidity to assist with financial planning. u2022 Develop audit-ready schedules and respond to external audit requests throughout the year. u2022 Assist with regulatory reporting, tax-related requirements, and accounting system enhancements, including work involving Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within mining, manufacturing, industrial, or other inventory-driven environments. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations. u2022 Experience partnering with external auditors and preparing documentation to support audit processes. u2022 Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial operations in businesses with inventory. u2022 Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail in a hands-on role. u2022 Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Query, Power BI, or Power Pivot is a plus. u2022 Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and credentials such as CPA or CMA are advantageous.
