Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Menominee, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organizationu2019s accounting functions. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. u2022 Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support the integrity of financial data. u2022 Conduct detailed account analysis and resolve discrepancies in financial reports. u2022 Manage the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate. u2022 Utilize SAP and other accounting software to streamline processes and maintain records. u2022 Develop and apply advanced Excel formulas to analyze and report financial data. u2022 Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent compliance with accounting standards and practices. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function. u2022 Support audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors as required. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field. u2022 Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. u2022 Strong knowledge of account analysis and month-end closing procedures. u2022 Hands-on experience with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel formulas. u2022 Familiarity with financial reporting practices and compliance standards. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
