Road Foreman Trainee at Kamiah Highway District in Kamiah, Idaho, United States Job Description Road Foreman Trainee -Kamiah Idaho Location: Kamiah Idaho Type:Full-Time, Trainee Program. About the Role: As a Road Foreman Trainee, you will work alongside experienced foremen and commissioners, learning the essential skills needed to manage road construction projects from start to finish. This comprehensive program is designed for motivated candidates with a strong work ethic who are eager to develop leadership capabilities and technical expertise. Key Learning Areas & Responsibilities: Crew Supervision:Lead, train, and evaluate small crews for daily tasks. Maintenance & Repair:Oversee patching asphalt, grading roads, clearing ditch, fixing guardrails, signs, and drainage. Winter Operations:Manage snowplowing, and sanding efforts. Scheduling & Planning:Organize work activities and contribute to annual work plans. Equipment Management:Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and inventory. Safety Compliance:Ensure all work follows strict safety protocols and standards. Record Keeping:Maintain accurate project notes, budgets, and supply orders. Communication:Liaise with commissioners, other teams, and potentially the public. Who We Are Looking For: A strong desire to pursue a career in heavy civil construction management. Reliable, highly motivated, and able to work in a demanding outdoor environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A valid driver’s license, valid CDL and reliable transportation are required. Previous construction experience or relevant vocational training is a plus, but not required—we will train the right candidate Why Join Us?
