Job Title: Structural Engineer Please book a time to meet with me: Job Description This role offers the opportunity to serve as a lead structural engineer on major transportation projects, with a strong focus on bridge design and related transportation and facility structures. You will perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design, while also contributing to client presentations, proposal development, and project cost estimating. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will help oversee project quality, schedule, and budget, supervise junior engineers, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams on high-profile public infrastructure projects. Responsibilities + Lead the structural design effort for transportation projects, with a particular emphasis on bridges and related structural components. + Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation and facility projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. + Develop structural plans, details, and specifications for both new construction and rehabilitation projects. + Prepare and deliver client presentations that clearly communicate design concepts, technical approaches, and project progress. + Support contract negotiations by providing technical input and helping define project deliverables and schedules. + Oversee and monitor project quality, schedule, and budget to ensure that project requirements and performance goals are consistently met. + Assist in directing and coordinating activities on transportation engineering projects to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished. + Supervise and mentor a team of junior engineers, providing technical guidance, quality reviews, and professional development support. + Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. + Minimum of 3u20136 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and plan development for new and rehabilitation projects. + Demonstrated experience in structural engineering and structural design for transportation projects, particularly bridges. + Proficiency in structural bridge design, including design-build and transportation-related projects. + Experience working on Department of Transportation (DOT) and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) projects. + Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD for the development of plans and design documents. + Experience with OpenBridge or similar bridge design and modeling software. + Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. + Ability to oversee project quality, schedule, and budget while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. + Strong communication skills to support client presentations, proposal preparation, and coordination with design and construction teams. + Proven ability to supervise and guide junior engineers on complex structural projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working on design-build projects in the transportation or bridge sector. + Background in structural analysis and design for a variety of transportation and facility types, including bridges, rail transit facilities, streets, highways, and utilities. + Experience in multi-disciplinary consulting environments that include architecture, structural/civil engineering, construction management/inspection, and special inspections. + Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams, including design and construction professionals. + Strong organizational skills to establish work plans, allocate resources, and manage multiple project phases. Work Environment You will work on high-profile public infrastructure projects, including major DOT and MTA initiatives such as large bridge programs and significant highway contracts. The environment is multi-disciplinary and fast-paced, involving close collaboration with architects, structural and civil engineers, construction management professionals, and inspection teams. You will oversee a team of junior engineers and work closely with other members of the design and construction team to ensure that models and deliverables accurately reflect design intent and meet project requirements. ufeff Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.
