This position independently manages technical, non-technical, and management openings, serving as a subject matter expert and resource to less experienced talent acquisition team members. The role focuses on delivering high-quality hiring outcomes through creative sourcing, strong partnerships with hiring leaders and HR, and a consistent, compliant candidate experience. Responsibilities + Lead full life cycle recruiting for field and craft non-exempt positions, including non-DOT and DOT roles such as line workers, electricians, plant operators, and maintenance technicians. + Independently manage a mix of technical, non-technical, and management-level positions within an assigned territory. + Partner closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand staffing needs, define role requirements, and develop effective recruiting strategies. + Screen resumes and conduct candidate interviews by phone and, when needed, via video or in person to assess qualifications, experience, and fit. + Administer appropriate assessments, coordinate reference and background checks, and synthesize information to make clear recommendations to hire or not hire. + Prepare, present, and deliver employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt positions, ensuring a professional and consistent candidate experience. + Communicate key employment details during the offer stage, including benefits, compensation, and any applicable employment agreements. + Serve as the recruiting expert for the assigned territory, advising hiring managers on market trends, candidate availability, and best practices. + Partner with Sourcing Specialists to ensure a strong, qualified slate of candidates is presented for each opening. + Manage the internal transfer process, including candidate screening, interview coordination, and preparation and delivery of transfer offer letters. + Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to gather feedback and continuously improve the recruiting process and candidate experience. + Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external candidates to support ongoing and future staffing needs. + Ensure onboarding and new hire orientation processes are initiated and completed in alignment with company procedures. + Work with hiring managers to ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan requirements. + Manage candidate activity within the applicant tracking system (ATS), specifically Workday, maintaining accurate and timely records. + Maintain application and resume files and retention practices in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. + Identify, suggest, and help implement ongoing process improvements to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of the recruiting function. + Act as a knowledgeable resource and informal mentor to less seasoned Talent Acquisition team members, sharing best practices and guidance as needed. Essential Skills + Minimum of five years of corporate, non-agency talent acquisition experience with proven success recruiting and placing candidates in field and craft non-exempt roles, including both non-DOT and DOT positions. + At least three years of experience working with electronic applicant tracking systems (ATS), with a strong preference for Workday. + Demonstrated experience recruiting for union roles, strongly preferred. + Proficiency in full cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer management. + Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to candidates and internal stakeholders. + Solid business acumen, with the ability to understand operational needs and align recruiting strategies accordingly. + Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, manage multiple requisitions, and prioritize competing demands. + Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with hiring managers, HR partners, and candidates. + Experience ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan requirements. + Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and general recruiting tools and technologies. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Experience with Workday as an applicant tracking system is strongly preferred. + Experience recruiting for unionized environments is strongly preferred. + Consulting and coaching skills, with the ability to advise hiring managers on hiring decisions and talent strategies. + Global and cultural awareness, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with candidates and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. + Demonstrated ability to suggest and support process improvements within the recruiting function. + background in recruiting for utility, industrial, or field-based operations roles is a plus. + Comfort working in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of responsiveness and collaboration. Work Environment This is a fully remote position that operates within a defined regional footprint. The successful candidate must reside within the specified service area and within approximately 50 miles of a regional facility, with examples including locations such as Roanoke, Columbus, Tulsa, Corpus Christi, Fort Smith, and Shreveport. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the need to manage time effectively across multiple requisitions and stakeholders. Work is performed using modern recruiting technologies and tools, including an applicant tracking system (Workday), standard office productivity software, and virtual communication platforms for interviews and meetings.
