This role requires a strong leadership presence, extensive knowledge of safety regulations, and a proactive approach to risk management in the construction industry, particularly in the vertical building and healthcare construction market. Location This position will be based in Lincoln, NE. Responsibilities u2022 Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy aligned with project and company goals. u2022 Managing the project environmental health and safety programs, driving a safety-oriented approach to work. u2022 Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level; recommending process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards. u2022 Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. u2022 Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed u2022 Developing environmental health and safety training materials to include manuals, brochures, PowerPoint presentations etc. u2022 Developing a paperwork management system to track training records to track all safety training initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors. u2022 Interpreting safety regulations for the project. u2022 Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and repertory. u2022 Interfacing with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit. u2022 Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals. u2022 Conduct high-level safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. u2022 Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. u2022 Direct incident investigations and oversee the development of corrective action plans. u2022 Provide executive-level reports on safety performance and metrics for the project. u2022 Collaborate with senior management and project teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the project. u2022 Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in safety practices. u2022 Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications u2022 Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry, with a focus on vertical building and/or healthcare construction projects. u2022 Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred. u2022 Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. u2022 Proven leadership and team management skills. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. u2022 Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
