Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the team in Olympia, Washington on a Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day receivables and billing operations while helping maintain accurate financial records across the association and related entities. The role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable handling detailed transactions, and confident working in a compliance-focused environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and issue invoices for the association and affiliated organizations, ensuring charges are accurate and sent on schedule. u2022 Apply incoming payments, record cash activity, and verify that transactions are posted completely and correctly. u2022 Reconcile customer accounts and intercompany balances, investigate variances, and resolve billing or payment issues in a timely manner. u2022 Maintain clear, well-organized financial records and supporting documentation for receivables, collections, and cash applications. u2022 Assist with month-end close activities, including reviewing aging reports and supporting account analysis. u2022 Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation requirements to support compliance and audit readiness. u2022 Provide support during external audits and internal financial reviews by gathering records and responding to documentation requests. u2022 Coordinate the administrative needs of two volunteer committees by tracking participation, organizing quarterly virtual meetings, and preparing agendas and meeting notes. u2022 Monitor, document, and report Political Action Committee contributions in accordance with applicable Washington State and City of Seattle campaign finance rules. Requirements u2022 At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related accounting function. u2022 Hands-on proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and standard office applications. u2022 Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, cash applications, billing functions, and month-end close support. u2022 Experience performing account reconciliations, reviewing aging reports, and handling intercompany transactions. u2022 Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. u2022 Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, volunteers, and external contacts. u2022 Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
