We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Emergency Management Specialist - Per this role, the successful candidate reports to the Associate Director of Emergency Management and supports the implementation of emergency management and enterprise resilience activities across the health system.This role is primarily responsible for facilitating emergency preparedness trainings, supporting the planning and execution of exercises, and assisting with the management and maintenance of EM+ER equipment and inventory. The specialist will also support emergency response activities and may assist with plan development and other departmental initiatives as assigned.Job ResponsibilitiesFacilitate emergency preparedness trainings, orientations, and educational sessions for staff across the enterpriseSupport the coordination, planning, and execution of emergency management drills and exercisesMaintain, track, and organize emergency management equipment, supplies, and operational inventoryAssist with preparation of training materials, exercise documentation, and after-action reportsBuild and maintain professional relationships with staff, managers, departments, and facilities across the enterpriseSupport review and updates of emergency operations plans, business continuity plans, and response procedures as assignedAssist with development of operational plans, job action sheets, and supporting documentation when neededServe in a supporting emergency management role during incidents, emergencies, and disastersBe available to work off-hours (nights/weekends) when supporting scheduled trainings, exercises or emergency response activitiesLiaise with internal departments and external partners as directedSupport departmental preparedness initiatives and special projects as assignedAssist with documentation, reporting, and administrative preparedness activitiesMinimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in health or in a related field a healthcare administration, emergency management, occupational health and safety, or another appropriate discipline or the equivalent combination of work experience. Minimum of 3 years of professional level emergency management or related experience in field such as emergency management, public health, hospital administration, emergency services, or teaching. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Project management experience. Able to interact with personnel at various levels. Able to work under tight and changing deadlines. Training experience. Ability to understand and interpret data. Computer literacy (MS Office)Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree completed or in progress in healthcare administration, emergency management, public health, occupational health & safety or a related discipline. Demonstrated interest or academic focus in emergency preparedness, healthcare operations, or disaster response.
