Join our team as a Kinship Support Worker!KVC Kansas | Full-Time | Hiawatha, KansasThe Kinship Support Worker provides assistance to the Kinship Care Coordinator to ensure children in foster care have permanent and safe connections in their lives.Education and experience requirements:High School diploma or GED required.Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred.Licensure & Certifications:Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.Must be at least 21 years of age.What you will do: Build a child welfare system that is safe, family-centered, and community-connected, using evidence-based practices to support Kansas contract services.• Completing New Provider Forms and entering them into the system• Ensuring relative information is documented into the Family Structure section in the KVC CARE system• Conducting fingerprints on potential relative/non-related kin placement• Completing online searches for family members and connections utilizing Accurint, search engines, social media, etc• Communicating with potential relatives/non-related kin through email, phone, or mail• Ensuring relatives have the resources needed to care for the child(ren) (beds, carseats, child safety equipment, lockboxes, fire alarms, Carbon monoxide detectors, alarms, etc)• Creating Kinship Relative Home Binders and/or Folders and ensuring information is current (Kinship Handbook, contactinformation for KVC workers, local resources, financial assistance, etc)• Maintaining a tracking system to ensure annual relative assessments are completed timely• Maintaining and updating Kinship forms/documents• Maintaining and updating the Kinship Facebook page• Ensuring relatives have current information regarding daycare and assisting in any communication needed betweenrelative and DCF and/or KVC accounting• Providing childcare as needed for relative support groups and/or educational meetingsWhy Choose KVC?
