Controller - Manufacturing Company (Islandia, NY)Salary: $90,000-$120,000 | Full-Time | On-Site (Hybrid Potential After Ramp-Up)A well?established manufacturing company in Islandia, NY is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the organization’s accounting operations and support the financial leadership of the business. This is a hands?on role that combines daily accounting management with higher?level financial oversight and strategic involvement. The position is fully on-site to start, with the possibility of a future hybrid schedule once performance and reliability are demonstrated.Position OverviewThe Controller will manage the company’s accounting function, supervise a team of staff accountants, and partner closely with senior leadership on financial planning, reporting, and operational decision?making. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership ability, and a proactive, solutions?oriented mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, payroll, order entry, and related financial workflowsManage, mentor, and develop a team of staff accountantsPrepare monthly and annual GAAP?compliant financial statementsCoordinate with external CPA firm during annual auditsManage cash flow, including vendor payments, receivables, and banking relationshipsPrepare bank reporting and communicate directly with loan officers as neededOversee sales tax, excise tax, and other regulatory filingsMaintain and update accounting policies, internal controls, and financial proceduresPrepare payroll, commissions, credits, reconciliations, and royalty reportsMaintain insurance policies (general liability, medical, disability, life, workers’ comp)Oversee 401(k) administration, including contributions, enrollments, and annual filingsSupport IT coordination with outsourced providers to ensure systems reliabilityAssist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisMaintain documentation related to patents, trademarks, and renewal schedulesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred, not required)5+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior management or supervisory experience strongly preferredProven ability to oversee full?cycle accounting operationsStrong analytical and problem?solving skillsExperience with ERP systems and comfort learning new softwareHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast?paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $90,000-$120,000, depending on experienceMedical and dental insuranceGenerous PTO structure (holidays, vacation, sick/personal time)401(k) with company matchLong?term disability insuranceAdditional company perks and benefitsCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
