Job Summary:The Design Manager is an influencer and expert in their assigned product category. Partnering with Buyers, interpreting brand concepts and category strategies, to design and develop compelling Merchandise that delivers the value, quality and aesthetic that supports the At Home vision.Reports to Design Director as ateam member of the Brand Concept and Design Team.Key Roles & Responsibilities:Provide clear item directives to the merchant team for assigned product responsibilitiesPartner with Brand Concept Team to understand and execute Concept vision, including color, silhouette, materiality, print & pattern each seasonCommunicate with and leverage external design resources and contractorsIdentify product opportunities informed by Concept Team, trade shows, market research and consumer insightManage assigned category calendar and timeline deliverablesPartner with Sourcing and Merchant team to execute assigned category developmentPartner with At Home product partners to influence and leverage their design capabilities, and ensure directives are interpreted and executed appropriately.Travel as required, . Trade Shows/Markets, Development and Style Out tripsQualifications & Competencies:Bachelor’s Degree5+ years of relevant Product Design or Product Development experienceExpert with MS Office productsAdobe Creative Suite proficiency (. Photoshop, Illustrator)Excellent eye for color, pattern, design details and craftsmanshipPresentation skills - including verbal, written and creative visualsAbility to develop/maintain strong working relationship with peers and cross-functional teamsStrong Influencer - comfortable with decision making, problem solving and providing solutionsFlexible and adaptive to changing prioritiesAble to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
