The college seeks faculty who will adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can use technology to teach effectively, and will work with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and student success.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree or higher in History, American Studies, or related discipline.Experience teaching college-level U.S. History (including AP or IB).Experience teaching hybrid or online classes.Demonstrated success in working effectively with faculty, students, and staff of various cultural and social backgroundsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience teaching U.S. History at a community college.Experience teaching with the Canvas LMS.Experience teaching Running Start students.Experience teaching Western Civilization, World Civilization, or Pacific Northwest History.PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work PENSATION:The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step A.
