Description We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Fresno, California on a Contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and preparing documentation for audit review. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively across finance and business teams. Responsibilities: u2022 Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet activity to verify accuracy and completeness across financial records. u2022 Review account fluctuations, research unusual items, and take corrective action to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. u2022 Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing entries, validating balances, and meeting reporting deadlines. u2022 Assemble audit schedules and supporting financial documentation to facilitate efficient internal and external audit processes. u2022 Coordinate with cross-functional partners and outside auditors to address questions, provide requested materials, and help keep audits on schedule. u2022 Assist in organizing and correcting historical accounting data when prior records require review or cleanup. u2022 Apply company policies and established accounting guidance to ensure financial work is completed in compliance with required standards. u2022 Support core accounting operations through work involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations as needed. Requirements u2022 At least 2 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment. u2022 Hands-on experience with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation. u2022 Working knowledge of month-end close and year-end close procedures. u2022 Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation activities. u2022 Ability to analyze variances, investigate account issues, and resolve discrepancies accurately. u2022 Experience preparing schedules and documentation in support of audit requests. u2022 Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and communication skills for working with multiple stakeholders.
