Description We are looking for an HR Generalist to join a non-profit organization in Woodbridge, New Jersey on a Contract basis. This part-time position supports essential human resources operations across the employee lifecycle, helping maintain organized, compliant, and responsive HR services. The role is well suited for someone who can balance administrative precision with strong interpersonal judgment in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee day-to-day HR administration, ensuring employee information is maintained accurately and handled with a high level of confidentiality. u2022 Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees and support a smooth introduction to policies, documentation, and internal processes. u2022 Manage payroll-related administrative tasks and help ensure timely, accurate processing in alignment with established procedures. u2022 Administer benefits activities, including enrollments, status updates, and employee questions regarding available programs. u2022 Monitor adherence to employment requirements at the federal, state, and local levels, with particular attention to New Jersey labor regulations. u2022 Prepare and respond to unemployment matters, employment verifications, and related documentation within required timelines. u2022 Contribute to the review and upkeep of HR policies and procedures to support consistent and compliant workplace practices. u2022 Assist with employee relations matters by addressing routine concerns, documenting issues, and escalating more complex situations when appropriate. u2022 Perform periodic audits of HR files, records, and workflows to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. u2022 Partner with leadership to support HR priorities and initiatives that align with organizational objectives. Requirements u2022 2u20134 years of experience in a human resources generalist or closely related HR role. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. u2022 Working knowledge of HR administration, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits coordination. u2022 Familiarity with employment law compliance, including New Jersey labor requirements. u2022 Experience handling unemployment claims, verifications, and other employee documentation processes. u2022 Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. u2022 Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with sound judgment when handling sensitive information. u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems; experience with nonprofit HR environments is a plus.
