Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities VA Careers - Psychologist: Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK SETTING, MAJOR DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES The position is located in the Portland metropolitan area or within one of the VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) associated Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The psychologist works within the Mental Health Division's (MHD) Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) program serving as a Clinical Psychologist. He/she/they work closely with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) lead (e.g., primary care provider), nurse case manager, and all primary care interdisciplinary team members to provide consultation, therapeutic counseling, and mental health support for mild-to-moderate cases. PCMHI psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct brief psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental health disorders through a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. The work is comprised of providing clinical services consistent with accepted standards of ethical and professional mental health treatment, and telehealth approaches may be used to provide clinical care. Learn more Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
