Our client, a non profit organization with the goal of advancing women in the workplace, is looking for a Director, Event Content & Speaker Management to start in a freelance capacity starting as soon as order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be able to work onsite 2 days per weekin their NYC office working around 25 - 30 hours a week to start. You also must be able to be onsite for events as needed - they have 2 per year one in NYC and Toronto.You will serve as the strategic owner of the non profit's event content portfolio and be responsible for shaping and delivering high quality, research driven, market relevant content across conferences, awards programs, and webinar series. This position is stakeholder facing and has strong editorial judgement, proactive communication skills, and has the ability to balance business needs, sponsor interests, and audience value. Event content sits at the intersection of research, sales, marketing, product, and senior leadership making this role both strategic and executional, and a mix of art and science.RESPONSIBILITIES:- owning the end to end content strategy for inperson, hybrid, and virtual events- developing clear, cohesive event agendas that are aligned to audience needs, business goals, and the non profit's product and research roadmap- ensuring that all content supports the non profit's overall value proposition and reflects current market relevance - communicating content plans and rationale to stakeholders, grounded in data and research- serving as the final decision maker for content, balancing multiple inputs while keeping programs focused and on track- partnering closely with Research and Product teams to understand what's coming in the fiscal year and how it informs event programming- translating research and complex ideas into compelling, accessible event narratives- working closely with senior leadership to align content priorities with organizational strategy- collaborating with Marketing to ensure agenda accuracy, positioning, and messaging- curating and recruiting speakers based on credibility, relevance, and audience value- preparing speakers and moderators to deliver strong, purposedriven sessions- managing sponsored and cocreated content with a clear editorial framework- maintaining detailed content tracking and documentation and utilizing tools such as Asana and Excel to manage timelines, dependencies, and reportingREQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years of experience in event content, production, or related roles- 4+ years owning agendas and session level content- demonstrated ability to translate research or complex subject matter into engaging experiences- experience working with sponsorships and sponsored content- strong stakeholder management experience, particularly with sales and senior leadership teams - highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple prioritiesIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
