In this role you can expect to manage, instruct, and train a survey crew of 1-5 people, including but not limited to assigning and monitoring work and providing evaluations. Complete surveying for boundary and topographic, ALTA, GPS, hydrographic and control surveys. Work with construction plans and providing surveying for large, fast paced commercial projects. Perform 90% of work in the field and may be conducted outside in various conditions.ResponsibilitiesOversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job site and assist with training others when practicalPrepare field sketches/drawings and high-quality field notes, including level notes, for each project in accordance with company and general survey standardsAssemble all instruments and measuring devices needed to complete various types of survey work assignments. Accurately run and adjust survey-measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilitiesEnsures that the proper equipment is loaded, and batteries charged for the next assignmentPerforms mathematical calculationsAbility to read and understanding plans and specificationsUnderstanding of basic sources of measurement errorsKnowledgeable of principals of construction staking and stake markingsAdhere to company safety policies along with use of supplied personal protective equipment, (PPE)Provide positive client/public relations in the fieldAccountable for completing assigned tasksPerforms other duties as assigned.QualificationsConstruction staking and data collection systems experience requiredAbility to perform basic GPS operationsProficient with Robotic Total StationBe familiar with basic computer applicationsPossess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills and provide a positive client/public relationship in the fieldMinimum 7-10 years of experience as a Crew Leader/ Party...
