POSITIONS IN HAGERSTOWN. An intermediate level of professional social work providing clinical and forensic social work services in a criminal justice environment in the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS). Employees in this classification provide clinical and supportive services to clients who have demonstrated a need for rehabilitative intervention because of behavioral factors or personality disorders and co-existing mental health, substance abuse or other social adjustment factors. Employees in this classification do not supervise other Social Workers. Employees in this classification receive moderate supervision from a Social Work Supervisor, Criminal Justice or other designated administrator. Employees may be exposed to hazardous situations and must exercise vigilance and sound judgment when working with clients. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Providing clinical supportive services. Providing psychosocial assessments/remediation plans as assigned. Conducting therapeutic/didactic groups, as well as individual support groups with a cognitive-behavioral theory base to the general population. Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment team. Completing a variety of administrative tasks associated with carrying out the social work functions such as maintaining and completing monthly reports and statistics. Attending clinical staff meetings when scheduled.
