MANTECH seeks a Data Science Intern to join our R&D team in the Data and AI Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, with a special focus on training, evaluating and deploying models for domains such as computer vision and natural language processing. The intern will work closely with our data science and AI team to investigate, research, and assess various model types and applications to enhance our current systems. Work will be hybrid; the location will be Herndon, VA and remote. Candidates must be a US Citizen with an active US Security Clearance or eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance Potential responsibilities include: + Investigate various machine learning (ML) algorithms to determine those suitable for client mission tasks + Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to condition data for training a model + Train and assess ML models for applicability and effectiveness for specific use cases + Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate the performance of different models and features + Develop visualizations of data and model results to effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders Qualifications: + Current full-time student pursuing a BS/MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field + Academic and/or professional experience with data science concepts and machine learning models + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal + Ability to work independently and as part of a team Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizen with an active US Security Clearance or eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%u201d and The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.MANTECH International Corporation considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to disability or veteran status or any other status protected under any federal, state, or local law or regulation.
