Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant for our Fernandina Beach location. This role requires flexibility and commitment to providing quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician. The position involves both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Responsibilities + Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. + Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management. + Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values. + Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information. + Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance. + Document patient intake vitals such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings. + Interview patients to document medical history, current medications, allergies, and other relevant information. + Obtain necessary medical records and diagnostic results for clinician review and treatment follow-up. Essential Skills + Medical assisting with active BLS certification. + Phlebotomy skills including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. + Experience with electronic health records and patient care. + Ability to perform triage, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. + Strong knowledge of medical terminology and internal medicine. Additional Skills & Qualifications + MA Diploma or Certification required or a minimum of 3 years MA experience. + Valid driver's license required. + Proficiency in patient education and front desk operations. + Bilingual abilities are a plus. + Experience in pediatric care and family medicine. Work Environment This is a patient-facing role involving indoor work and computer operation. The role may expose you to certain hazards and requires manual dexterity. You will need to reach outward and above the shoulder, as well as lift or carry up to 10 lbs. The position involves sitting, walking, squatting, kneeling, or bending. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, with Wednesday shifts from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday shifts from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm on rotation.
