Administrative Manager (HEA) - CUNY Dominican Studies Institute POSITION DETAILS The CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY DSI) is an interdisciplinary research unit of the City University of New York at The City College of New York. CUNY DSl's mission is to gather, produce, and disseminate academic knowledge on the human experience of people residing in the United States who trace their ancestry to the Dominican Republic and toadvance research and teaching at the City University of New York (CUNY), focusing on the Dominican people in the United States, the Dominican Republic, and elsewhere. The Administrative Manager will report to the Director of CUNY DSI at The City College of New York. In addition to the CUNY title overview, the Administrative Manager's duties include but are not limited to the following: (Campus-specific Information and duties) u2022 Oversees the instituteu2019s fiscal administration, including budget planning, monitoring, and management of multiple funding streams and grants u2022 Manages grant administration and compliance, including coordination of reporting requirements and oversight of institutional accountability processes u2022 Supervises daily administrative operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuity of services u2022 Serves as primary liaison with City College Human Resources, Payroll, and related administrative offices u2022 Oversees hiring documentation, onboarding processes, and personnel actions for full-time and part-time staff u2022 Supervises a complex staffing structure funded through multiple grants and funding entities u2022 Ensures payroll accuracy, grant allocation compliance, and proper documentation for personnel expenditures u2022 Implements and monitors administrative systems to support institutional growth and operational scalability u2022 Assists the Director in financial planning, institutional reporting, and strategic resource allocation u2022 Prepares analytical and fiscal reports for internal and external stakeholders u2022 Supports the Director in ensuring operational continuity during periods of transition or leadership absence u2022 Performs related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in public administration, higher education administration, business administration, finance, or related field preferred. Extensive experience in grant administration, budget management, and fiscal compliance within a higher education or research setting strongly preferred. Demonstrated supervisory experience and familiarity with CUNY and/or public university administrative systems highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple funding streams and operate in a fastpaced, growing academic environment with precision and accountability required. Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) preferred. CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Manages administrative and program activities of an academic or administrative unit. - Manages administrative aspects of department operations such as admissions, recruitment, scheduling, facilities management, and events. - Serves as Office Manager, supervising and training staff, managing financial operations and budgets, and coordinating technology, equipment, security, and building maintenance requirements. - Represents management in meetings and activities related to department administration. - Maintains archives, inventories, or collections of materials or records needed by the department. - Works with fund-raising, marketing, technology, and other personnel to provide information and participate in Campus or University-wide initiatives. - Collect information for, produce, and distribute department reports covering program, fiscal, and human resources issues - Independently carries out unit activities such as approvals, student interactions, and participation in campus- or university-wide committees and projects. Job Title Name: Administrative Manager CUNY TITLE Higher Education Associate FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary Range: $86,741 - $90,838. Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
