Job Summary/ObjectiveTo support the Office of Finance by providing leadership and oversight of the District's daily financial operations, accounting functions, purchasing, reporting, and budget processes to ensure fiscal integrity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery.# Essential Functions/Duties The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:1. Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the leadership and management of the District's finance department and serve as the lead administrator for daily accounting and financial operations.2. Oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, purchasing, accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, and related business functions.3. Coordinate and review the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and support schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness.4. Lead month-end and year-end close processes and support preparation of the District's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and annual external audit.5. Assist in the development, monitoring, and administration of the District's annual budget; analyze revenues and expenditures and recommend adjustments as needed.6. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for the Chief Financial Officer, Superintendent, Board, and other stakeholders.7. Support long-range financial planning, cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment reporting as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.8. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, regulations, grant requirements, Board policy, and internal procedures.9. Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, financial procedures, and process improvements to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and customer service.10. Oversee financial administration and reporting related to the Medical Access Program (MAP) and other assigned funding sources or special programs.11. Collaborate with district administrators and department leaders to provide financial guidance, resolve issues, and support sound fiscal decision-making.12. Collaborate with the Payroll Manager and Chief Financial Officer to ensure payroll transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and aligned with financial reporting and budget controls.13. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications:Required:1. Five years of progressively responsible experience in business/finance or public administration.2. Two years' experience in a supervisory role.3. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related degree4. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and strategic communication skills.5. Ability to support a culture of diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion.Preferred:1. Experience in public sector preferred.2. Experience in an urban educational setting preferred.3.
