All positions are onsite, unless otherwise stated.Job Description:Plans, designs, coordinates, executes, monitors, evaluates, and generates reports for state-of-the-art military equipment that requires close adherence to established test procedures and/or development of new procedures. The Arctic Region Test Center (ARTC) handles a range of system and sensor testing activities like precision navigation, unmanned aerial systems, parachute systems, precision guided airdrop systems, surveillance, reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare, counter improvised explosive devices (IED), interoperability and electromagnetic compatibility to name a few. ARTC testing also includes a wide range of wheeled and tracked combat vehicles with either mounted direct or indirect fire weapon systems. Automotive vehicles include a variety of wheeled vehicle types and may also include logistics, material handling equipment and route clearing equipment. Direct fire weapon systems include associated munitions and targeting systems. In addition to the systems, sensors and vehicle testing, munitions ,weapons testing is performed on indirect fire weapons systems, large caliber munitions, guided projectiles, lot acceptance, insensitive munitions and stockpile. Another area of support is mines, countermines, demolition systems, mine performance, detection and neutralization, as well as smart and networked munitions. Assigned tests are usually feasibility, engineering design, development or product validation tests. Other assignments may include independent responsibility for a project having the characteristics described above or may serve as a project engineer on a major, complex system that is part of a high visibility, high-cost program for which a team leader has overall responsibility.
