Title: Sr Piping Designer Location: Houston, TX or Salt Lake City, UTDuration: Contract-Direct, Long-term Ray range: $50-$60/hr DOE Job Responsibilities:Uses computer aided design (CAD) software to prepare sketches and detailed design drawings for the Mechanical Department. Prepare and/or revise drawings, sketches and layouts of single units, parts, or components as directed.Consolidates detail from a number of sources, adjusts or transposes scale, or makes simple calculationsPerforms drafting duties with a clients operating facility or in the field in support of construction projects.Job Requirements: Associates degree or a two-year college or technical school training in Computer Aided Design and Computer Drafting8+ years of work experience in Computer Drafting, or, equivalent combination of education and experienceRequires working knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx .Ability to read and comprehend P&IDs and piping drawings.Knowledge of appropriate use of pipe fittings and materials in industrial applications.Ability to identify pipe components and symbols required to create piping drawings.Excellent understanding of 3 dimensional modeling.Ability to identify piping system mistakes and inconsistencies on drawings.Working knowledge of pipe specifications and their applications.Team player with strong oral and written communication skills.Be able to travel to client sites (may be on relatively short notice).Is a United States citizen able to meet background checks required by TWIC .Preferred QualificationsCollege or high school courses in Engineering Math, Physics and Technical WritingConsulting engineering work experience (Piping, Mechanical)8+ years collective field experience with piping and mechanical construction projects.Welcome to ConsultNet and the family of companies, Tekne, SaltClick, TechBridge, and OmniMedia.
