Job DescriptionSummary of position:This part-time (three days per week) position reports to the Director of the Queens Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinic (Queens FPECC) in the Division of Correctional Health Services. The Queens FPECC, located in the Queens County Criminal Court Building at 125-01 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, is responsible for conducting court-ordered fitness to proceed evaluations of criminal defendants under CPL Article 730 and presentencing evaluations under CPL Article 390; preparing written reports in a timely manner for submission to the Courts; and providing courtroom testimony as necessary.Responsibilities include:Conduct court-ordered evaluations of criminal defendants and submit timely written reports to the CourtsConduct psychological testing (intelligence, neuropsychological, personality, malingering, etc.) as neededProvide teaching and supervision for clinicians in trainingParticipate in regular supervision with the Director of the Queens FPECC Actively participate in staff meetings, clinic quality improvement projects, and continuing educationRemain aware of and in compliance with organizational policies and proceduresFrom time to time, as needed, conduct CPL 730 and CPL 390 evaluations in the other FPECC clinics (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan) Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Queens Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinic or the city-wide Director of the Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court ClinicsDepartment Preferences:Excellent diagnostic and evaluation skills with particular attention to issues related to forming opinions about psychological questionsExcellent forensic report writing skillsExperience working with forensic mental health populationsExperience in administering and scoring a wide range of psychological testsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and professionally with other disciplinesProficiency with word processing programs and spreadsheet programsFluent in written and spoken EnglishQualification Requirements:Education: Ph.D or Psy.D. degreeValid license and current registration to practice as a psychologist, issued by the New York State Department of Education.At least two years of full-time post-licensure experience practicing clinical and/or forensic psychology, one year of which must have been post-licensure supervisory experience, or three years of post-licensure pletion of the NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory training within three months after appointment.An equivalent and satisfactory combination of education and experience may be considered.Minimum Qualifications1. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED; and2. Two (2) years of post-licensure experience, one (1) year of which must have been post-licensure supervisory experience; or three (3) years of post-licensure experience; and3.
